Prince Edward Island: Restaurants, Montague

The town of Montague, located in Kings County, was incorporated in 1917 and has a population of 2,000. Marketed as “Montague The Beautiful” because of the tranquil river running through the town, the lovely tree-lined streets and the stately heritage homes, Montague has all of the necessary services to help with your travel needs.

In the heart of Montague is the wharf and marina. Enjoy the boardwalk which runs along the waterfront and is part of the Confederation Trail. There is plenty of parking and there is a ramp for wheelchair access.

While in Montague be sure and visit the Harvey Moore Waterfowl Park, a haven for migrating birds such as Canada geese and black ducks. A pleasant one-hour trail meanders its way through the park, taking you through various woodland types and open fields. Gardeners will enjoy the sights in the AA MacDonald Memorial Gardens located in the heart of the community in Kent Square. Ample park benches and picnic tables allow visitors to relax in undisturbed settings.

At the Roma Historic Site enjoy the scenery, try out the walking trails, and explore the exhibits. This Historical Recreation of the first French Settlement offers the pioneer experience and guided heritage tours. This settlement is being reconstructed to bring us back in time
